Casey Kasem Now Part of the Stars
On Sunday, radio icon Casey Kasem passed away at the age of 82.
The man who invented radio’s Top 40 Countdown went peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, according to his daughter Kerri.
He is remembered for counting down the hits and also for voicing a number of cartoon characters, most notably Shaggy on Scooby Doo.
It’s sad that his final moments on this planet were marred by a legal battle between his kids and his second wife, and that it took a court order to honor Kasem’s wishes to be allowed to pass with dignity.
You reached for the stars, Casey, and now you’re part of them.
